Swap Share: Perfect Pennants

Happy Friday!

Woo hoo - it's here!! I'm so looking forward to spending time with my men this weekend, I'm  super excited about it!! Okay...I give it about 4 hours then I'm gonna be wishing they were out of the house so I can do something quietly...

I have the last of the unorganized swaps to share with you
I had seen a tutorial by Patty Bennett about watercoloring using SU!'s inks...I had to try it!
I'll work on a picture tutorial today and I'll get that posted tomorrow...I'm considering doing YouTube videos, but, I have a serious fear of the dislike button:(
I tend to stay with neutral or softer tones because its safe. But, I wanted something bright and happy and came up with this! Melon Mambo is the base, with Whisper White layered on it. The watercolor paper panel is made up Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral and Tangerine Tango inks...I love the way it blended together! Then, I took Gorgeous Grunge and stamped it using Melon Mambo and Daffodil Delight for some interest. I layered the watercolor panel on Basic Black, added Linen Thread with a dab of glue to the panel and then layered my butterflies on it. I stamped the sentiment in Memento Inks Tuxedo Black directly on the Whisper White and added a couple of rhinestones for sparkle.
I loved the way this turned out!

Swap Share: Petite Petals

Happy, happy Thursday!

I hope your day is going well...the weekend is almost here! Which means, hubby starts vacation as of 430 pm Hawai'i time tomorrow, my oldest boy gets to enjoy 3 days off in a row - his first weekend off ever - and, I get the whole mess of them all to myself for a few days...wait, is that a good thing or a bad thing??
Today, I have another share for you from Convention...another of my unorganized swaps featuring the Petite Petals stamp set.
I layered Whisper White on to Early Espresso and used Gorgeous Grunge in Crumb Cake. I stamped a flower from the Petite Petals set in Calypso Coral, Crisp Cantaloupe and Daffodil Delight and punched it out with the Petite petals Punch. The leaves are in Garden Green and punched out using the Bird Builder punch. Pearls are used in the center of the flowers and the sentiment is stamped in Early Espresso from the Regarding Dahlias stamp set. Super fast and super simple!

Swap Share: Groovy Love

Hi!
Hope everyone is having a great day - it's Wednesday!
I have another share for you today - this was for the unorganized swaps that happen at Convention. My closet friend attended Convention for the first time this year and she played "Swap Angel" for me. Since I had joined a few mail in swaps and  managed to sign up for a couple of organized swaps at Convention, I hadn't really planned on making too many for the unorganized swaps. Well, both of us had gotten a few tips from our Upline about Convention swapping and now we know better! Next time, we'll make more and at least two different designs!
I had come up with 3 designs - super simple, with the idea that these will work great for Workshop and/or beginners class ideas. Here's the first:

The sentiment is from the stamp set Groovy Love - one of the first purchases I made from the new catalog and I love it! Gorgeous Grunge is used in Bermuda Bay and Daffodil Delight on a panel of Whisper White which is then layered on a piece of Soft Sky. The Red Glimmer Hearts are punched out using two new punches - Sweetheart Punch and Heart Border Punch. Now, for unorganized swaps, only card fronts are required so that it can be adhered on the rest of the card by the receiving demo. If I did the whole card, I would have probably used Crumb Cake for a base.

Swap Share: Perfect Pennants 3x3 Card

Good morning!

I hope your Tuesday is going well so far...mine just started and so far, so good!
Here is my 3x3 card for the swap that I participated in...I love how this came out! I did something different and did a Gatefold style card...see how I scored it so that there flaps that open? Love it!
Whisper White is the base and I layered Calypso Coral and Gold Soiree DSP on both sides. The Garden Green piece was cut out using the Window Framelits and I cut a piece of Brushed Gold Cardstock and flagged the ends using the Banner Punch. The butterfly was from the Papillon Potpourri and stamped in Pistachio Pudding and punched out with the Bitty Butterfly Punch. The sentiment is from the Perfect Pennants set and stamped in Early Espresso. I punched it out using the
1 3/4 inch Circle Punch and just started layering, using some Early Espresso Bakers Twine to add some interest. Of course, a little bling was added to the butterfly and there you go! A list of the items I used is attached at the bottom of this post.
